23.08.18 Juanita Grech: 'Without challenges, there is no satisfaction'
For the first time in its brief history, Swieqi United have recruited a Club Administrator - Juanita Grech.
Already well known to the club, Ms Grech was successfully recruited after a public recruitment process, beginning her duties on August 1.
Ms Grech, who works on a part-time basis, has been added to the Swieqi United family in order to bolster the administrative department of the club, increase paperwork efficiency, and cater for the ever growing needs of Malta's most ambitious club.
Ms Grech will also be tasked with managing all club correspondence and registrations and will shortly be commencing her Certificate in Club Administration at the MFA later on during the year.
The Club's Media Team sat down with Ms Grech and asked her some questions about the role.
SUFC: What led you to be interested in becoming the club's new administrator?
JG: As soon the club announced that they were looking for a new Club Administrator, I immediately took it into consideration. I’ve been part of Swieqi United for a couple of years now and I was always impressed by its story and the seriousness of the club. Administration is a field that I would like to explore and I feel that this was my chance.
SUFC: What do you find interesting about the job?
JG: I find this job interesting because meeting and engaging with people is a must. I also enjoy being part of the managerial sector of the club as I can understand better the foundations and be part of the actual day-to-day running of this organisation.
SUFC: Why Swieqi United?
JG: Swieqi United is different from other clubs. All the members have the same philosophy. I believe that this is what makes it different and ultimately better than most other local football clubs. Each member is respected and appreciated, no matter how little the contribution is.
SUFC: What challenges you about the role?
JG: The role is not the easiest. It’s similar to having to sort out thousands of strings together to make up one firm rope for everyone to pull. Challenges come in different forms: deadlines, different personalities, new systems and the list goes on. But this is it and this is life: without challenges there is no satisfaction. Ultimately, challenges brings change.
Everyone at Swieqi United wishes Juanita all the very best as she embarks on this new and challenging adventure!
