Swieqi United faced off against Dingli Swallows yesterday in a match which was played in glorious sunshine and had some terrific home support at the Luxol Stadium. This was a match were both teams wanted a win to ease their fears of relegation.

Both teams started off proceedings brightly creating an even match. However Dingli soon started to have the upper hand, but an alert Swieqi defence kept Dingli at bay. However Dingli surged into a 1-0 lead after some mistakes from Swieqi and both teams soon headed off for the half time break.

Coach Debrincat's half time talk proved to be inspirational for Swieqi came out in the second half with a fighting spirit. Matthew Aciak replaced Matthew Fenech at half time and he quickly leveled Swieqi 1-1 15 minutes after the start of the second half.
